SURGICAL ROBOTS
Surgical robots were manufactured to help surgeons preform complex procedures with more precision, flexibility, and control. These robots are mostly used in minimally invasive surgeries, which are procedures done with tiny incisions. Surgical robots also cause patients to have less pain, less blood loss, and they also recover faster. Surgical robots are used in many extractions of tumors because the robot can get around major arteries with more precision.

This is the Da Vinci surgical system. It was developed by the company Intuitive Surgical in the year 2000. This robot is used all over the world today to preform surgeries with very small incisions. The Da Vinci system can do surgeries by being minimally invasive, which means it will need to make less incisions then a human surgeon. Studies have also shown that surgeries done with this robot cause less pain, blood loss, lighter scars, and less infections in the patients body. This system allows the surgeon to have a 3D, high definition magnified view of the inside of the patients body. The surgeon can control the surgical instruments that are attached to the four robotic arms from the console. The surgeon also has a 360 view of the inside of the patients body, which makes the surgery easier. The wrist instruments have the ability to bend and rotate more degrees then a human hand This helps to do surgery with more precision. The current cost of this surgical system is $2 million.

This is the Zeus surgical system. It was developed by the company Computer Motion in 1994. This system has three arms while the Da Vinci surgical system has four. Like the Da Vinci system, this system also has a console where the surgeon sits to control the arms. One of the arms has a voice activated endoscope with which the surgeon can see the inside of the patients body. The other two arms mimic the surgeons actions. This system was discontinued in 2003 because of the merger between Computer Motion and its rival Intuitive Surgical. These two companies since then have created updated models of the Da Vinci Surgical System. The cost of this system is not mentioned on there website.

This is the PARO therapeutic robot. It is an interactive robot developed by the Japanese company AIST. This robot is designed to provide the benefits of animal therapy. PARO is mostly used with elderly patients who have conditions like dementia, depression, or Alzheimer's. Paro has 5 kinds of sensors: tactile, light, audition, temperature, and posture sensors' with which the robot can develop an understanding of the people and the environment around it. PARO has proven to reduce stress and provide comfort to patients. PARO can respond to its name, enjoys being stroked, and can develop a personality over time tailored by its past interactions with people. The current cost of the robot is $6000.

NON SURGICAL ROBOTS
Non surgical robots work to keep hospitals clean and moving. They perform tasks like cleaning the hospital, delivering medicine and food to patients, get clinical supplies to where needed, and many more. Not only do these robots help around in hospitals but they also help patients at home who are in recovery. These robots allow the hospital staff to focus on more important things.

This is the TUG autonomous robot. It was developed by the company Aethon in 2004. This robot is designed to deliver things around a hospital facility. It can do scheduled or on demand deliveries. Doctors can use TUG to get medical materials around the hospital. TUG has a compartment in which the staff can place things and then TUG will take them to the directed spot. This robot can carry up to 1000 pounds. TUG can also deliver food and medicine to patients. It also works around the clock so less medical staff is needed for the night shift. The TUG robot decides when it can recharge, this feature allows it to run for more than 10 hours at a time. TUG can also communicate with the staff to tell them what it is doing. For example if it is waiting for the elevator it will tell the people around it. The current cost of this robot is $105,000 for purchase or $1,500 per month for lease.
